Milan, 7 September 2020 - The publication in the Italian Official Gazette on 27 July of the Decree enacting new subsidies for road transport may represent a stimulus for the industry which, while it never ceased working even during the lockdown, is currently suffering from a reduction in shipping volumes and, above all, a lack of liquidity. In Italy, potential investments in new vehicles, made urgent by the age of the current fleet - older than 10 years on average - could well prove to be an important factor in the current challenging conditions: they promise to stimulate the distribution system with its intensive use of road transport, while also indirectly promoting the re-opening of the entire national economy.
In the light of the above, the next Transpotec Logitec, the key Italian road transport and logistics exhibition, to be held at Fiera Milano on 18 to 21 March 2021, will be an important opportunity for anyone looking at new vehicles, and especially for operators interested in applying for the subsidies envisaged in the Decree, which will be available during a second “window” mid-next year, from 14 May to 30 June 2021. The trucks, commercial vehicles and equipped trailers on show at the exhibition will enable visitors to discover and evaluate the most recent entries in the market and plan their investments to best effect.
RESTARTING POSITIVE FEEDBACK FOR GROWTH
Transpotec Logitec 2021 - thanks to the cooperation of manufacturers, stakeholders, associations and the trade media collaborating in the project - has the objective of providing concrete support to the "positive feedback loop” of the road transport industry.
New investment in the latest generation vehicles will inject new energy into the market of manufacturers and associated companies, spurring investment in low environmental impact solutions like natural gas, biomethane and e-vehicles.
But a renewal of the fleet will also benefit road safety, thanks to the assisted driving and braking systems on the most recent vehicles, thus ensuring greater reliability and sustainability for haulage companies and reducing running costs. The range of solutions on show at Transpotec Logitec will enable haulage professionals to achieve the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance without compromising - indeed, growing! - their competitiveness, while also benefiting the national economy as a whole.
MORE ROOM FOR HANDS ON EXPERIENCE: TEST DRIVES
Solutions for manoeuvrability and safety, alternative drivetrains, as well as new infotainment systems and interiors designed to improve the driver's well-being are just some of the important variables to know about and evaluate before purchasing a new vehicle. This is a great opportunity to try before you buy. At Transpotec, the world of industrial and commercial vehicles and manufacturer's new products will be on show at the stands - but also available for test drives in the exhibition centre.
The dedicated area for test driving heavy vehicles, conceived to offer all visitors the chance to experience for themselves the performance of the trucks offered by exhibiting manufacturers, will enable operators to try them out in a variety of situations. With the assistance of specialised safe driving instructors, transport professionals will discover the vehicles and the various on-board innovations, with targeted tests to highlight vehicles' characteristics and test their reliability in a variety of situations, while also assessing their safety and comfort.
Light commercial vehicles are also the "co-workers on four wheels" of small workshops and dealers, and will also be the focus of dedicated tests designed to allow visitors to experience first-hand the performance and reliability of vehicles often engaged in intense tours de force from customer to customer or on a variety of different missions. In particular, alternative drivetrains will be a focus of attention, with a wide range of electric and hybrid vehicles on show, in recognition of the fact that commercial and last mile delivery operations are increasingly handled by vehicles of this type.
Test drives of industrial and commercial vehicles - open to all visitors to Transpotec Logitec - will be held in the outdoors areas facing the exhibition halls, and will feature vehicles from all the manufacturers exhibiting at the event.
WE'LL MEET AGAIN: SAFETY FIRST
Thanks to our collaboration with a team of experts, working in synergy with the major players in the sector, Fiera Milano has recently been working on the preparation of a “Protocol for the containment of the spread of the new coronavirus” setting out concrete guidelines which will be applied during Transpotec Logitec 2021, in full compliance with current regulations.
These measures include the use of digital booking and gate technologies; entrance will be permitted only following a body temperature check, and the use of facemasks will be obligatory in situations in which social distancing is not possible.
In addition, using multiple touch points using new technologies (IoT, Data Analytics, Cloud, Mobile App), the centre has equipped itself with tools to ensure a completely safe visit to the exhibition: 80 high resolution LED-walls will provide information for visitors and exhibitors; a heatmap will enable geolocation inside the centre and monitor flows and routes to ensure better interaction between buyers and exhibitors while guaranteeing distancing; the new exhibition centre app will not only amplify the visitor's experience, but provide services like a new wayfinding system, fast track, parking space booking and food serving.
Innovation, experience, value chain, safety: Transpotec Logitec is on the road to change for the better.
The event is scheduled at Fiera Milano from 18 to 21 March 2021.
