May 2024: fiera milano becomes a hub for sustainable mobility

Two simultaneous events, Transpotec Logitec and NME, to talk about how the new mobility of goods and people is becoming an increasingly crucial aspect of our world. Research and technological innovation come into play to make transport systems more sustainable, safe and efficient.

These topics will be discussed from 8 to 11 May 2024, as Fiera Milano will host Transpotec Logitec, Italy's leading event for goods transport, and NME - Next Mobility Exhibition - the event dedicated to integrated and sustainable mobility solutions for passenger transport.

Both the events, which will occupy a total of six pavilions and will be held simultaneously for the first time, will maintain their own identity and design, but will share reflections on certain themes. First and foremost, energy transition and new prospects for infrastructure renewal in order to create a multimodal, interconnected and efficient transport system that can proactively respond to the European Union's demands for zero emissions in 2050.

Another common theme will be urban mobility: if the world of goods transport is evolving towards an increasingly green last mile, thanks to electric vans and innovative micro-mobility solutions, the passenger transport sector is working to offer more and more integrated solutions that can constitute valid alternatives to the use of private cars: from buses to trains, kick scooters, bike sharing, self-driving shuttles, up to the futuristic prospects of air mobility.

Technology will be the common thread between the various themes, the result of the research activities of manufacturers who are already working on increasingly sustainable engines, alternative fuels, charging infrastructures for electric vehicles and innovative systems to reduce emissions to zero.
