The business world believes in the process of energy transition; it’s a question of responsibility.  The companies that are investing this way bear high costs, costs that the market does not always recognise.

The energy transition unquestionably represents an opportunity for us as a country and as Europe. What is less attractive is an ideological approach that does not consider the costs and impact on the industrial, commercial and services supply chain. We need a serious, realistic technology neutrality approach that takes all the challenges into account.

Horizon 2030 - The Next Europe between Politics, Economy, Environmental Commitments, and Social Challenges

In anticipation of the European Parliament elections, we deepen our understanding of Europe as an institution, the mechanisms that enable its functioning, and then focus on the transport and logistics sector. We do this on Europe Day, May 9, a date marking the anniversary of the historic declaration in which the then French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman outlined the idea of a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would have made war between European nations unthinkable. Schuman's proposal is considered the birth act of what is now the European Union.

Digital infrastructure to support logistics and freight transport

Rail freight transport is a central aspect of the national logistics network.

The goal is to increase rail freight transport to 30 percent by 2030 and 50 percent by 2050, for a more competitive, integrated and intermodal freight network.

Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (the National Railway Infrastructure Manager) is deploying a series of actions towards this goal: performance adjustments of various kinds such as line modules, to allow the transit of trains up to 750 meters long, on the gauge - a real traveling highway or high cube containers - or on the axle mass, with interventions on the infrastructure - to allow the transit of heavy freight trains (22.5 tons per axle), last-mile connections to ports and interports through new facilities and upgrades of existing ones.

In the new Highway Code there are particular changes for "Drunk driving". From union codes 68 and 69 to interventions to regulate the Alcolock device, to prevent the starting of the engine on vehicles used by subjects with alcohol above zero and convicted of driving under the influence.
